WHAT IS LVL (LENGTH, VOLUME, LIFT)? Our LVL Lash Lift is the revolutionary lash treatment that lifts your natural lash at the root and creates the effect of longer, fuller and curlier lashes. HOW DOES THE LVL LASH LIFTING WORK? The structure of a single eyelash consists of three parts: the hair cuticle, the cortex and the medulla. When the lifting balm is applied during the LVL treatment, the hydrogen comes into contact with the air and oxidises. This creates a chemical process that dissolves the disulphate bonds in each lash and reshapes it into a new shape. The next step is the application of the volumizing fixative, which brings the disulphate bonds into their new shape, creating maximum curl. It takes up to 48 hours to fix this new shape of the lashes, until the disulphate bonds are completely and permanently preserved. Therefore, it is important to make sure that the lashes do not get wet or exposed to excessive moisture during the first 48 hours, they will fall back into their alpha-keratin (natural) state.

The first 48 hours after the treatment require special attention to ensure that you can enjoy your LVL LASH LIFTING for as long as possible. Proper care afterwards is important as your lashes are still getting used to their new shape and improper handling can negatively affect the result.
SHOWERS, SAUNAS AND LOUNGERS You can shower after the LVL LASH LIFTING treatment, but avoid completely submerging your head and face directly under the shower head or in the bathtub. Avoid visiting saunas, steam baths, swimming pools and sunbeds for 48 hours after the treatment. The high temperature can lead to the effect of LVL LASH LIFTING being impaired or not lasting as long. The WOW effect normally lasts between 6 and 8 weeks.
EYELASH MANIPULATION As difficult as it may be at times, try to avoid touching or rubbing your eye area, especially when washing or cleansing your face. Any kind of eyelash appliances are completely taboo, but when you see the results of your long, curved natural lashes, you'll just be happy to have them anyway.
PILLOW TALK Another thing to consider is how you sleep. Facing down into the pillow or sleeping on one side can change the shape of your eyelashes into different positions. Make sure you fall asleep on your back for the first 48 hours if possible.
MAKE-UP AND CARE A LVL COLLAGEN LASH LIFTING treatment also includes tinting the natural lashes which creates a mascara effect at the end. If you still want to use mascara, try a water-based one and avoid waterproof versions. Also, avoid any oil-based products, especially make-up remover. DO YOU FEEL THAT YOU LOSE EYELASHES FASTER AFTER THE EYELASH LIFT? It is natural to lose between 2-6 lashes per eye every day, this is the natural cycle of the lashes. With the LVL Collagen Eyelash Lift treatment the lashes have been tinted which can give the impression that more lashes have been lost as the new lashes appear lighter than the treated ones.
It is important that in the first 24 hours after the treatment, the eyelashes are not get wet at all and are not exposed to steam for 48 hours. MASCARA PANNELS Eyelash extensions make a dramatic difference to natural lashes, but it's understandable that you want to add volume for weekends or special occasions. However, it is not possible to use a conventional, off-the-shelf mascara. These mascaras can glue the lashes together and damage the glue areas. If you want to use a mascara, we recommend the NOUVEAU LASHES water-based mascara. It is easy to remove and will not damage the adhesive bonds. Liquid eyeliners and eyeliner pencils should only be used on the waterline.
WATER ALARM For all treatments, your NOUVEAU LASHES stylist will advise that your lashes should not come into contact with water for the first 48 hours. Also avoid saunas, steam baths, solariums and oil-free make-up removers. When the 48 hours are up, for example, when showering, make sure your face is downwards, towards the flow of water. Don't stand face up directly under the shower head and try not to rub your eyes with the towel afterwards. Pat your face dry and be careful not to pull around the eye area.
CARE A wide range of skincare products; eye make-up removers, cleansers, moisturisers, are oil based. Great for beautiful, glowing skin, not so great for eyelash extensions! The oily products can damage the adhesive bond. This can mean you will need the refill appointment much sooner than you normally would. To prevent losing your lashes too soon, use mild, oil-free products around the eye area and take extra care to remove eye make-up. For Russian Volume and SVS, it is highly recommended to comb and wash your lashes daily with our Lash & Lid Foaming Cleanser. This protects the extensions and moisturises the natural lashes.
SLEEPING BEAUTY It's a little difficult to concentrate while you sleep, but it's important to do as much as you can to avoid damaging your eyelashes during the night. Position your pillows around your head to reduce the likelihood of sleeping sideways and avoid sleeping face down.
